Need alternative agenda, not political fronts: KCR

Hyderabad, April 27 (Maxim News): Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday said the country needs an alternative agenda and not political realignment.

Speaking at the 21st Foundation Day celebrations of his party organised at HICC, Madhapur here, the TRS president expressed concern over the unhealthy situation prevailed in the country where some forces are indulging in creating unrest in the name of caste and religion.

“Right now, the country needs peace and social harmony. It needs alternative agenda and not political fronts or political realignment,” K Chandrashekar Rao pointed out.

Stating that the Telangana State was achieved after facing many humiliations and struggles, KCR said the development works and welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana have become a role model for other States in the country. “The TRS belongs to Telangana people and it safeguards them and always protects their interest”, announced the TRS chief. Stating that the youngest State has achieved impressive growth in all sectors and the awards and rewards that have been receiving from the Centre and other agencies, show its achievement, KCR said and added that Telangana has emerged as a role model for other States, but that it needed to achieve even more.

“Just look at the list of best villages in the country. The top ten villages belong to Telangana. It shows how the Telangana has been progressing in development,” the Chief Minister said. Expressing concern over water wars and power sector woes in the country despite the availability of natural resources, KCR pointed out that the Union government has not been performing well the way Telangana has done so far.

Disclosing a few reasons for the successful achievements in the Panchayat Raj department, the Chief Minister said all elected representatives were involved into Palle Pragathi program and village presidents and secretaries were directed to hold responsibility for failing to protect the trees. He said the Telangana State has been progressing on the right path and it has achieved remarkable progress, especially in the quality of power supply and availability of drinking and irrigation water to people.
