New Rules For 10th And Intermediate Students: No Exam If There Is No Attendance
Hyderabad, Aug 8 (Maxim News): CBSE Board takes strict action on student attendance. The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued a notification regarding the attendance of class 10th and intermediate students for the academic year 2025-26, it has been clarified that students must have at least 75 per cent attendance to appear for the 2026 board exams.
The Board has warned that students will not be allowed to appear for the board exams if their attendance is less than 75 percent. Students who are exempted from this due to any illness or emergency medical conditions, death of a family member, participation in national or international sports events, etc.
The Board has also said that serious action will be taken against those who have discrepancies in attendance records and tampered with attendance data.
Attendance will also be deducted if a student does not come to school without prior permission. It has been said that parents and students should be informed of the attendance rules and what will happen if they do not follow them at the beginning of each academic year.
Schools have been asked to alert parents through registered email or post if attendance is low. Attendance will be calculated from january 1 and all schools and colleges will have to submit cases of low attendance to the board by January 7.
The Board has also authorised checks on CBSE affiliated schools, If attendance records are not completed on time, the Board can take strict action such as cancelling the affiliation of the schools or disqualifying the students. (Maxim News)
