Hyderabad, July 21: A two-day-old baby girl was found abandoned in a white bag on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road at Shamshabad in Rangareddy district, triggering concern among local residents.
According to police, passersby noticed the bag and discovered the infant inside before immediately alerting the authorities.
Personnel from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Police Station rushed to the spot, rescued the baby and shifted her to the Shamshabad Government Hospital for medical examination.
Police said the infant’s health condition is stable. Following the preliminary medical check-up, the child was placed under the care of Shishu Vihar, Ameerpet, for further protection and care.
A case has been registered, and police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for abandoning the newborn.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations and collecting evidence to trace the accused. Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved at the earliest.
