“No Dry Law – No Vote” Campaign In GHMC Polls Too: Amanullah

Hyderabad, April 14 (Maxim News): Telangana Two-wheeler Riders Association has threatened to continue “No Prohibition –No Vote” campaign also in the next GHMC elections.

In a prèssnote here today, Mohd Amanullah Khan, convener, stated the idea behind the compaign was to see that the voter turnout was brought down to an alarming level between 25-30% since the KCR government was giving a deaf ear to this problem of life and death. For this purpose, the association would involve all the sections of the people in general and the women in particular and would carry out an effective compaign. He reminded that his association has not only given “No Prohibition –No Vote” slogan in parliamentary elections well in advance but also had appealed to boycott the elections if there was no positive response from the government. This was one of the reasons as to why there was less voter turnout in Hyderabad and Secunderabad Parliamentary Constituencies this time.

Khan also regretted that despite sending drunken drivers to jails and canceling their driving licenses and imposing huge penalties, the drunk driven cases are going on increasing instead of decreasing. As such, the TRS government has left with no other alternative than to enforce total prohibition in the State. (Maxim News)
