“No Objection From MLC Amer Ali Khan Becoming Minister”: Kavitha Slams Congress for Ignoring Minority Promises

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (Maxim News): Keeping in view that even after one year of completion of Congress government in the state and Minorities Welfare Department was neglected, BRS MLC K. Kavitha said that the BRS has no objection if MLC Amer Ali Khan is made the Minister for Minorities Welfare, which would help in streamlining the welfare activities of the minorities welfare schemes and unfulfilled Minority Promises in Telangana.

Raising the issue in the Legislative Council, Kavitha expressed concerns over the Congress party’s failure to honor its pre-election promises regarding minority welfare in Telangana. In its Minority Declaration document, Congress had made several key commitments, including:₹10,000 crore for the Minority Sub-Plan.

She also questioned whether the promise of increasing the pension to the Imams and Mouzans to Rs. 10 thousand has not been implemented, under Shaadi Mubarak Congress promised to increase it to Rs. 1.6 lakh and 10 grams of gold for the marriage of girls from minority communities have not been implemented. She said that there is no representation of the Minorities in the Cabinet, and she said that if no Minority candidate had won on the Congress ticket, she said that BRS have no objection if Amer Ali Khan is made the Minister for Minority Welfare.

However, Kavitha pointed out that Congress has remained silent on these promises, with no progress or response on these crucial issues.  She questioned the delay in fulfilling their commitments and asked.  ” Where is the Minority Minister? Where is the action on these vital promises?

Kavitha emphasized that Congress must respect Telangana’s Ganga Jamuna Tehzeeb and answer the people by fulfilling the promises made to the minority communities. (Maxim News)
