Hyderabad, Nov 9 (Maxim News): Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha said she has no political link with BRS and vowed to fight for Telangana’s public issues and equality.

Calling for equality, Kavitha urged the revival of student union elections to create new leadership opportunities. “Without such reforms, only politicians’ children and relatives will continue to dominate politics,” she warned.

Criticizing both the ruling and opposition parties for being engrossed in the Jubilee Hills by-election, she said no one was addressing public concerns. “This is why we are speaking for the people. We have no stand in the Jubilee Hills poll,” she added, reaffirming her commitment to BC welfare.

The former Nizamabad MP also attacked the BJP-led Centre, stating that despite winning three terms, the party did nothing for Telangana.

She accused the BRS of sidelining her under “protocol restrictions” and confining her to one district. “I toured every village during the Telangana movement for Bathukamma celebrations, but later I was told to stay in Nizamabad,” she recalled.

Kavitha said even as the Chief Minister’s daughter, it once took her a year to get a project approved. “Telangana is a rich state, yet people are struggling financially. Every citizen deserves economic independence,” she added.

Highlighting Warangal’s role in the Telangana movement, Kavitha praised the region as a land of inspiration, recalling figures like Professor Jayashankar, Bammera Pothana, and Queen Rudrama Devi. “Women are not weak; they are powerful,” she said.

Kavitha criticized the government for poor paddy procurement. Out of the targeted 13 lakh metric tonnes, only 17,000 tonnes have been purchased so far, she said, accusing officials of forcing farmers to sell elsewhere and lose bonuses. “If the government delays procurement, who will answer the farmers’ pain?” she questioned.

She also said compensation for those affected by the recent storm was yet to be distributed despite the Chief Minister’s promise. “Cotton farmers are suffering. With high rainfall, moisture levels rise, but the government pays no attention,” she said. Kavitha said she has no political connection with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Speaking to the media in Hanamkonda during her “Jagruthi Janambata” district tour, Kavitha expressed deep disappointment over her suspension from the BRS, calling it humiliating and unjust.

Kavitha said she was expelled without even a show-cause notice. “Even a prisoner is granted a last wish before execution, but I was not given a chance to explain,” she stated.

Kavitha recalled being restricted to Nizamabad under the pretext of protocol while in the party. “I have no political or personal association with BRS or KCR now. If my father calls me home, I will go as a daughter, not as a party member,” she clarified.

She emphasized that political and personal relations are separate and vowed to continue fighting for people’s issues. “If women decide to do politics, we will show how it is done,” she said, adding that her future political plans will unfold in due course. (Maxim News)
