Visakhapatnam: Noted music maestro Indrakanti Venkata Lakshmana Sastry –popular as IVL Sastry, died here on Wednesday. He was 94.
His daughters Annapurna, Saraswathi Vidyarthi and Sarada, and son Kaliprasad, are all well-known music exponents.
Founder of Sangeeta Janakulam, Sastry has established his school in several other states. He was also known to be an expert in instrumental music and his free music classes every year benefited hundreds of music lovers over the last few decades.
