Now It’s Plastic Rice—No end to Adulteration of Food stuffs

Hyderabad: Now it is Plastic rice which is creating flutters in the Hyderabad city. The people were seriously concerned with the issue. On Tuesday, plastic rice trading came to light at Nandanavanam in Meerpet.

A person named Ashok lodged a complaint with the police alleging that he found plastic rice in the rice bag he purchased at Nandanavanam. He informed police that he purchased 25 kilos rice one month ago at Rs.1100 and the rice was becoming lump when he tried to prepare meal. The shop owner said that he too purchased the rice from other shop when Ashok asked about it. Ashok also shot the scenes of the lump jumping up when it thrown to surface with his mobile. He also said that his family members were facing health problems after eating these rice. He said that the lump was not broken even when beaten with cricket bat.

It is to mention here that few days ago, a hotel management has beaten up one TV Channel reporter when he questioned about plastic rice that came in his meal at the hotel. It is learnt that several private hostel managements were serving the meal prepared with plastic rice. In Yousufguda, hostel students have staged dharna on Monday evening alleging that the hostel management was serving plastic rice.
