Oath Ceremony Of New Congress MLCs On Break

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (Maxim News): The High Court of Telangana has put a break on the oath-taking of the MLCs elected under the Governor’s quota in Telangana. The High Court has directed not to administer the oath till further orders.

It is known that Professor Kodandaram and Mir Amer Ali Khan have been appointed as MLCs in the Governor’s quota. The Court ordered not to administer oaths to both of them.

BRS leaders Dasoju Shravan and Satyanarayana have challenged the rejection of their names as MLCs by governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan in the High Court. The advocates for the petitioners brought to the attention of the court that she rejected the names sent by the Council of Ministers. Kodandaram and Mir Amer Ali Khan asked for interim orders without taking oath till the matter was clarified.

The Council for the Governor’s Secretary told the Court that the new government had revoked the resolution passed by the Council of Ministers during the previous government’s regime. After hearing the arguments, the bench adjourned the further hearing to February 8 imposing the status quo. (Maxim News)
