Hyderabad, April 16 (Maxim News): Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy has directed the officials concerned to speed up the process of generating more funds to the Haritha Nidhi( Geen Fund) by involving all sections of people from the next month.
The minister held a review meeting with officials concerned at the Aranya Bhavan, here on Saturday and discussed about the plan of action for generating more revenue to the Green Fund.
The State government has set up the Telangana Haritha Nidhi or ‘Green Fund’ to develop a sense of participation and involvement by all sections of people to improve greenery. Under the Green Fund, the amount is collected from public representatives, government employees and other sections of society for the improvement of forest coverage.
On the occasion, the Minister also urged the people to take up the responsibility of environmental protection and plantation.
Indrakaran Reddy also informed that the forest coverage has drastically improved in Telangana after launching the prestigious Haritha Haram programme and the complete transformation is clearly visible in villages and towns with the greenary of trees. (Maxim News)
