Ola Electric registers 400% YoY growth in August sales ; The company has been dominating the EV market for years

Bengaluru , August 31, 2023: Ola Electric , India’s largest electric vehicle company , continues its dominance as the market leader in the EV 2W segment for the past year . It recorded sales of ~19,000 units ( as per Vahan data ) in August , registering a growth of 400% YoY and owning a market share of ~30%.

While Ola transitioned from Gen-1 to Gen-2 in August , the company also expanded its manufacturing capacity during this period .

Ankush Aggarwal , Chief Business Officer , Ola said , “ In August , we expanded our portfolio to five scooters across all popular price points . The all-new S1 lineup will not only accelerate EV adoption and also accelerate India’s journey towards green mobility . With the festive season coming , we expect strong sales during this period and we expect the EV industry to witness an inflection point due to high consumer demand .

Ola ‘s latest S1 scooter portfolio has received an overwhelming response and has received over 75,000 bookings within two weeks of its launch . The Ola Future factory operates in three shifts to increase production and meet market demand . Unveiled as part of Ola ‘s annual flagship event , the S1 Pro , S1 Air , S1X+, S1X ( 3kWh ), and S1X (2kWh) are built on the latest and most advanced Gen-2 platform .

S1 Pro

Priced at INR 1,47,499, the Gen-2 S1 Pro now comes with twin – fork telescopic front suspension and a flat floor board along with an improved 195k . Check your range and 120 km . Offering the industry ‘s best speed of m / h . The purchase window for the S1 Pro Gen 2 is now open , but deliveries will begin in mid- September .

S1 Air

Priced at INR 1,19,999, the S1 Air boasts a robust 3 kWh battery capacity , 6kW maximum motor power , 151 km certified range and a top speed of 90 km /hr. S1 Air deliveries have recently started in more than 100 cities .

ICE- Killer S1X

Ola Electric has introduced its ICE- killer scooter S1X in three variants S1 X+, S1 X (2kWh), and S1 X (3kWh) to suit the needs of all kinds of users . Both the S1 X+ (3kWh) and S1 X (3kWh) will come with a powerful 6kW motor , 3kWh battery , a range of 151 km , and a top speed of 90 km/h. The S1 X (2kWh) also comes with a powerful 6kW motor and has a range of 91 km and a top speed of 85 km/h.

The S1 X+ is available for purchase at Rs 109,999 and deliveries will begin next month . The pre – reservation window of S1 X (3kWh) and S1 X (2kWh) is Rs . 999 is currently ongoing , and its deliveries will begin in December . The S1 X (3kWh), and S1 X (2kWh) scooters are priced at an attractive Rs . 99,999 and Rs . 89,999 are available .
