One dead after ‘speeding’ bike falls off Hyderabad flyover

A biker was killed and the pillion rider was injured after a motorcycle flew off the Biodiversity flyover in Hyderabad. The incident took place around 9:30 PM on Sunday when the duo was en route to Madhapur from Rayadurgam.

The deceased has been identified as Madhu (21) from Siddipet and the injured victim is 24-year-old Giri from Yadadri. They were employed as X-ray technicians at a hospital.

According to the police, prima facie, the incident took place due to speeding. The bike hit a divider and the duo was thrown from Level 2 to Level 1 of the Biodiversity flyover.

Madhu suffered a fatal blow leading to his death on the spot despite wearing a helmet, while Giri has been shifted to a nearby hospital.

This is the second such incident where a vehicle flew off the Biodiversity flyover and crashed below leading to a death. Earlier on November 23, 2019, a woman was killed in a freak accident where a car crashed on a 56-year-old woman after the driver failed to negotiate a curve due to overspeeding.
