Hyderabad: With the sudden demise of TRS sitting MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah, a by-election is necessitated for Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency.
After the GHMC election, all the parties shifted its focus to find a suitable candidate for the Nagarjuna Sagar by-election. The TRS party is likely to accord ticket to Nomula Narasimhaiah’s son Bhagat while the BJP party is trying to rope in Jana Reddy’s son Raghuveer.
It is to mention here that After, 2018 assembly elections, this is a third by-election for an assembly constituency in Telangana. Huzurnagar by-election was held after the MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy had been elected as an MP Lok Sabha.
Later, this year, a by-election was held for Dubbak with the death of the sitting MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy and now with the death of another TRS MLA, Nagarjuna Sagar is heading for the by-election.
In the last assembly elections, Nomula Narasimhaiah won over the Congress senior leader Jana Reddy. The TRS party likely to give the ticket to Nomula’s son Bhagat, a lawyer who is also actively taking part in the party programmes. Meanwhile, Jana Reddy who was defeated in the last elections has been staying away from politics.
However, with the necessity of by-election for Nagarjuna Sagar, Jana Reddy is said to have turned his focus to grab the seat and is likely to field his son.
