OnePlus 16 | OnePlus has confirmed a major battery upgrade for the upcoming OnePlus 16, which will launch in China on October 12.
The flagship smartphone will pack a 9,000mAh battery, OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis confirmed in a Weibo post. This is 1,700mAh more than the 7,300mAh battery in the OnePlus 15.
The larger battery could significantly improve endurance, although actual battery life will depend on factors such as display refresh rate, chipset efficiency and usage patterns.
OnePlus has also confirmed 50W wireless charging for the new flagship. Reports indicate that the phone will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
OnePlus 16 Brings 200MP Camera and 185Hz Display
The battery upgrade is part of a broader hardware push for the OnePlus 16.
The company has previously confirmed a 200MP main rear camera and a high-refresh-rate display. The screen will support up to 185Hz, while the system-wide refresh rate is reported at 165Hz.
The phone is also expected to feature a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera, although some of these camera specifications remain based on reports rather than a complete official specification sheet.
The OnePlus 16 will make its official debut in China on October 12. OnePlus has not confirmed a launch date for India yet.

With its 9,000mAh battery, high-refresh-rate display and upgraded camera system, the OnePlus 16 is shaping up as a major hardware upgrade over the current generation.
