Online Classes for Grade I and II Likely to Start in August
Hyderabad: Children of classes I and II will have to start their academics soon with the long drawn out holidays likely to end shortly. School Education Department may commence digital classes for classes I and II for the academic year 2021-22 in the first week of August.
Accordingly, the department is planning to put up a proposal before the State government seeking necessary permission to broadcast digital lessons through Doordarshan and T-SAT network channels. On a given day, only one class of 30-minute duration is being planned for children of classes I and II.
Accordingly, the State Council of Educational Research and Training is designing the preparatory material for broadcast. “The classes will begin once the government approves the proposal,” an official said.
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the State government had closed all educational institutions for physical classes and decided to conduct digital/online classes for all students.
At present, the digital lessons are being telecast in Telugu, English and Urdu mediums for students of all government-run institutions in the State. Accordingly, the State Institute of Educational Technology, Hyderabad, has issued day-wise and class-wise digital lessons transmission schedule up to July 14. The classes on Doordarshan Yadagiri will be conducted from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Similarly, the T-SAT Vidya channel will telecast digital lessons from 9 am to 5 pm.
In order to memorise lessons taught in the last academic year, the department has devised bridge courses for classes III to X. As part of the course, all the key concepts and lessons will be revised till the end of this month. Following this, digital lessons for the new academic year will commence.
