A targeted enforcement drive under Operation Dhoolpet led to the arrest of four persons in a ganja case in Hyderabad on Saturday. The Prohibition and Excise Department Special Task Force conducted a raid at Jummerat Bazaar and seized 5.24 kilograms of ganja. Officials said the action followed specific information and resulted in the recovery of the contraband from a residential premises.

According to officials, the STF team raided the house of Vikas Singh alias Vicky after receiving inputs about illegal activity. During the search, the team found 5.24 kilograms of ganja hidden in one of the rooms. The seizure formed the core evidence in the case registered under Operation Dhoolpet. Meanwhile, officers secured the premises and documented the recovery as part of the investigation process.

Officials said Vikas Singh was sourcing ganja from some persons and selling it to customers in the city with the help of his associates. An official said the accused had built a network to distribute the substance within Hyderabad. Therefore, the department moved quickly to identify and detain those involved. The operation aimed to disrupt the supply chain and prevent further distribution in the city.

During the raid, the sleuths arrested Vikas Singh, Mithilal Singh, Akash Singh, and Vishal Singh. Also, the team seized four motorcycles and five mobile phones from the spot. Officials said these items were taken into custody for further examination as part of the probe. Later, the department confirmed that four other persons linked to the case remain absconding.

Meanwhile, officials said efforts are underway to trace the absconders and identify the sources mentioned during the inquiry. The department stated that Operation Dhoolpet continues to focus on actionable intelligence and swift enforcement. Therefore, teams remain on alert to act on fresh inputs. The case highlights the department’s ongoing drive to curb narcotics distribution through coordinated field operations and follow up actions.
