Operation Epic Fury Targets Iran After Gulf Attacks

Hyderabad: Operation Epic Fury is the name given by the US Department of Defense to the attacks on Iran. The announcement came through a post made by the Department of War, which is part of the Department of Defense, on its ex-account. It wrote the tagline Operation Epic Fury and posted an American flag emoji. The US also said that this operation was carried out in collaboration with Israel.

Earlier, Israel launched a surprise missile attack on Iran on Saturday morning. The missile attack targeted the residence and office of Supreme Leader Khamenei. However, it is known that the US also attacked nuclear weapons facilities in Iran last year. Those attacks were named Operation Midnight Hammer. Therefore, Operation Epic Fury marks another named military action linked to Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran appears to have retaliated. Some media outlets reported that Iran fired dozens of missiles and drones at Israel. Media reported that Iran fired dozens of ballistic missiles. Mehr News Agency stated that the missiles were aimed at Israel and targeted all of Palestine. In addition, media reported that Iran fired about 75 missiles.

However, it is initially believed that Iran also attacked US bases in the Gulf countries. Reports said Iran targeted US bases in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. Explosions took place in those areas today. Therefore, tensions rose sharply across the Gulf region.

Bahrain asked its citizens to go to safe areas. Iran launched these attacks in retaliation for the US attacks. Meanwhile, Qatar announced that it had intercepted two missiles. Qatari officials said that the missiles that entered their country’s airspace were shot down. The situation remains tense as multiple countries report missile activity across the region.
