Osmania University Appoints Prof. B. Srinivas as New Member-Secretary for TG SET
Hyderabad, July 31 (Maxim News): Osmania University has officially announced the appointment of Professor B. Srinivas, from the Department of Applied Geo-Chemistry at the University College of Science, as the new Member-Secretary of the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TG SET). The decision was approved by the Government of Telangana through G.O.Rt No. 107, issued by the Higher Education (CE) Department on July 26, 2025.
Prof. Srinivas steps into the role previously held by Professor G. Naresh Reddy, who has now taken charge as the Registrar of Osmania University. Prof. Reddy had earlier served as the Member-Secretary for the Steering and Moderation Committees of TG SET.
Leadership Transition with Government Approval
The appointment was made following a formal proposal submitted by Vice-Chancellor Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram, in consultation with the Secretary of Higher Education, Government of Telangana. The government, after thorough evaluation, approved Prof. Srinivas’s appointment to lead the TG SET operations under the Osmania University umbrella.
Acknowledging Past Contributions and Looking Ahead
In an official press release, Vice-Chancellor Sr. Prof. Kumar Molugaram extended his appreciation for the contributions of Prof. G. Naresh Reddy, noting his dedicated efforts and administrative excellence in overseeing the smooth conduct of previous SET examinations.
“We thank Prof. G. Naresh Reddy for his commendable service and welcome Prof. B. Srinivas to this important academic responsibility. His experience and commitment will be instrumental in further strengthening the SET process in Telangana,” the VC said.
Significance of TG SET
The Telangana State Eligibility Test (TG SET) is a crucial qualifying examination for the recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors and Lecturers in universities and colleges across Telangana. Osmania University is the nodal agency entrusted by the Telangana government to conduct this examination.
Prof. B. Srinivas’s background in applied geochemistry and years of service in academic research and administration make him well-suited for this new role.
