ABVP State Media Convener and former OU president Ch Druhan criticised the fee revision. He alleged that the university was shifting its financial burden onto students instead of seeking adequate financial support from the State government. He also objected to increases in faculty registration, submission and biometric charges.

Responding to the criticism, OU Registrar Prof G Naresh Reddy said the university revises academic service charges once every one or two years and that the latest revision follows the usual practice.
