OU Department Of Business Management Inaugurates Dedicated Women’s Lounge
Hyderabad, Mar 19 (Maxim News) The Department of Business Management at Osmania University today unveiled a new Women’s Lounge, a dedicated space designed to enhance the comfort, inclusivity, and empowerment of female students, faculty, and staff.
The newly inaugurated lounge, a vibrant and secure environment, is equipped with modern amenities to facilitate relaxation, collaboration, and networking. It aims to serve as a central hub for discussions, mentorship opportunities, and the fostering of a strong sense of community among women within the department.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Kumar Molugaram, Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, alongside Prof. G. Naresh Reddy, Registrar, OU, and Prof. Jitendra Kumar Naik, OSD to VC. The event also saw the participation of faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students.
Special invitees Prof. B. Lavanya, Dean, UGC and Development Affairs, OU, and Dr. Hameeda Bee, Director, MLBC Centre for Women Studies, OU, emphasized the potential of the lounge to host interactive sessions, guest lectures, and support groups, thereby promoting leadership and entrepreneurial skills among female students and faculty.
In his address, Prof. Kumar Molugaram underscored the significance of creating gender-sensitive learning spaces, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. Prof. Y. Jahangir, Head of the Department of Business Management, and Prof. D. Sreeramulu, Dean, Faculty of Management, further emphasized how this initiative aligns with the institution’s dedication to supporting women’s academic and professional growth.
The department acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the significant contribution made by the 1994-96 MBA alumni batch, whose generosity played a crucial role in the establishment of the Women’s Lounge.
