Overseas Job Consultancy Cheats Hyderabad Aspirants

  • Police book Himayatnagar firm for cheating job seekers of Rs 1.05 crore
  • Consultancy accused of issuing fake work permits and seizing passports

Hyderabad, Nov 12 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police have registered a case against an overseas job consultancy in Himayatnagar for allegedly cheating several job aspirants of more than Rs 1.05 crore. The firm lured job seekers with false promises of employment abroad and later withheld their passports.

According to the police, the consultancy’s directors allegedly prepared and issued fake overseas work permits to dozens of job aspirants. They targeted unemployed youth through social media advertisements that offered assured placement in multiple foreign countries. The consultancy promised jobs in Australia, Germany, Lithuania, Malta, Albania, Laos, China, New Zealand, and Luxembourg.

Police said nearly 40 job seekers fell victim to the scam after approaching the consultancy either directly or through social media influencers. The victims were made to believe that the firm had authentic foreign partnerships and that the process of securing employment visas would be simple and guaranteed. However, once the victims paid large sums of money, the consultancy withheld their passports, preventing them from taking further action.

Based on a complaint from one of the victims, the Hyderabad police registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials confirmed that the directors misused the collected funds instead of processing legitimate work opportunities. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are tracing financial transactions and digital evidence linked to the scam.

Authorities have advised job aspirants to verify the authenticity of overseas recruiters before making any payments or handing over official documents. The case has once again highlighted the growing number of fraudulent job consultancies exploiting the aspirations of unemployed youth across Telangana and other parts of India.
