Overwhelming Response Of The Candidates For Contesting On The Congress Ticket For Assembly Elections
Hyderabad, Aug 26 (Maxim News): There was an overwhelming response from the candidates to contest on Congress ticket for the coming Assembly elections, likely to be held by the end of this year.
Around 1025 candidates have applied to contest on behalf of Congress. The deadline for receiving applications was Friday. On the last day, a huge number of applications were received. Gandhi Bhavan was abuzz with the arrival of aspirants. This time, it seems that the seniors have stepped aside. It is reported that heirs have been brought into the field. Senior leader Jana Reddy withdrew from the contest and fielded his two sons. The elder son from Miryalaguda and the younger son from Nagarjunasagar entered the competition. To this extent, they both applied in Gandhi Bhavan. Like Jana Reddy, many seniors seem to have left the ring and brought in their successors.
1025 applications from 119 constituencies reached Gandhi Bhavan. All these applications will be filtered. For this, the process of scrutiny of applications will start from Sunday. Also, the Pradesh Election Committee is also going to meet in a day or two. The competition? it will be clear in a few days who will get the ticket.
Only one application was received from the Kodangal constituency. One PCC Chief Revanth Reddy applied from Kodangal. Tens of applications have been received in all the constituencies except this constituency. there is fierce competition in the constituencies represented by CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, MLAs Sridhar Babu, Seethakka, Jaggareddy, and Podem Veeraya. These segments received the highest number of applications. Illandu ST Reserve Constituency received the highest number of 38 applications in the state. (Maxim News)
