Pakistan Bans New Year Celebrations In Solidarity With Gaza
Karachi/Internet/Hyderabad, Dec 29 (Maxim News): Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwarul Haq Kakar has banned New Year celebrations in Pakistan. In his address to the country, Kakar expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.
He said that this decision was taken in support of the brothers and sisters there in view of the disturbing situation in Palestine. He reminded that more than 21 thousand people have lost their lives in Palestine so far. Moreover, Pakistan has sent two aid packages to Palestine. Kakar said that the third package is being prepared. Kakar mentioned Pakistan’s efforts to create awareness about the plight of the Palestinian people in global forums. It is said that Pakistan has responded immediately regarding the continuous attacks in Gaza. In this order, people have been asked to stay away from New Year celebrations and exercise restraint.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s economic crisis has been on the decline for the past few months. It has become a topic of discussion in the past that the leaders there have said that people should reduce the consumption of electricity, including the skyrocketing prices of essentials. But in the past, some people tried to celebrate the New year in Pakistan. As a result, many people do not want to celebrate the New Year celebrations in this country. Taking such a decision in this order has become a hot topic at present. (Maxim News)
