Pawan Remembers Kandukuri Veeresalingam On Birth Anniversary

Amaravati, April 16 (Maxim News): Janasena Party Party President Pawan Kalyan remembered Kandukuri Veeresalingam on the occasion of his birth anniversary today.

In a statement here, Pawan Kalyan said, “Kandukuri Veeresalingam is a great personality and his social and literary services are an inspiration to the present generation. He is the champion who bore the brunt from protesting conservatives for his social reforms. We need to remember his uniqueness on the occasion of his birth anniversary . Apart from giving priority for women’s education through which he ignited the lamps of knowledge among them, he is a great social reformer who fought against child marriages, performed re-marriages to widows and strove for the eradication of caste system. Along with his movement for reforms, his services to the Telugu language are innumerable as he strived hard for extending the sweetness of mother tongue to the next generations. Significantly, he made his works in the colloquial language itself. The credit of writing first novel in Telugu, first satirical novel and first autobiography goes to Veeresalingam.

Kandukuri Veeresalingam founded Hithakarini society for helping society and donated his entire properties to it. It is our responsibility to protect the assets he donated as well as the values he had extended to the society. We must not ignore his services to the Telugu language. Now the rulers have begun to distance the mother tongue from the educational institutions. The High Court has given relief to the lovers of the language by delivering a judgement ensuring life to the mother tongue. Taking inspiration from Veeresalingam, we need to fight against those who are doing injustice to the Telugu language. We have commenced “Mana nudi – Mana nadi” programme on the banks of Godavari river where the pioneer of modern era moved on. Let’s take forward the “Mana nudi – Mana nadi” programme with the inspiration from the social reformer.(Maxim News)
