Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): TPCC spokesperson Addanki Dayakar said while the people of State were still with their party, EVMs were with TRS party leaders in State. He said 18 EVMs were damaged in his Tungaturti constituency when he contested as the MLA in the last year’s Assembly elections due to the negligence of the officials of the Election Commission.
Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, Dayakar asked as to why the Election Commission did not allot election symbols to the contesting farmers in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. He also asked Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar as to why he would not hold elections on ballot paper in Nizamabad when there were 188 candidates in the fray. He also alleged that Rajat Kumar was talking in favour of the ruling TRS party.
Addanki Dayakar also wanted to know from the CEO as to why he was not taking any action on their complaints regarding EVM tampering. He urged the Election Commission to respect their appeals and count votes of at least five EVMs out of 18 in his constituency. He urged the booth agents of his party to be on high alert and keep an eye on the EVMs. He also urged the EC to set up jammers near strong rooms and increase security. (Maxim News)
