During the hearing of the case, Siddhartha Luthra and Siddhartha Dave argued on behalf of the Telangana government and Tirupatanna. When a bench of Justice B.V. Nagaratna and Justice Satish Chandra asked Luthra how much more time he would take to investigate the case, he said four months. The High Court expressed its impatience to ask for more time. However, Tirupatanna’s lawyer requested the Supreme Court to grant bail, saying that the accused has been in jail for 10 months. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court agreed with the petitioner’s arguments and granted bail. It ordered Tirupatanna to cooperate with the investigation of the case and not to influence witnesses.
