Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept 25 (Maxim News) A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Supreme Court against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The PIL was filed by advocate Shailendramani Tripathi based on media reports alleging that the CEC took key decisions unilaterally. Tripathi said that CEC Gyanesh Kumar took decisions without consulting two Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, which is unconstitutional.
He alleged that all the decisions taken by the CEC were full of mistakes. He demanded that all the decisions taken by him be declared illegal and Form 6 should be brought back. He also demanded that 13 crore voters were removed from the electoral rolls during the Special Comprehensive Election (SCR) and that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should investigate that matter. He also demanded that CEO Gyanesh Kumar, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Manish Garg and Director General (IT) Seema Khanna be prosecuted under the Representation of the People Act for failure and negligence in the discharge of their duties.

It is known that an English newspaper recently published an article stating that CEC Gyanesh Kumar did not pay attention to the objections raised by two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, on the Special Comprehensive Amendment (SCR). Following the newspaper article, Advocate Shailendramani Tripathi filed a PIL in the Supreme Court. The article stated that the two Election Commissioners had raised objections 14 times regarding the SCR process, changes to Form 6 and maintenance of the voters’ list, but the CEC did not pay attention. The article revealed that the CEC took decisions without the knowledge of the two Commissioners. (Maxim News)
