Plan Ready To Conduct Local Body Elections: Jagan

The AP government has appointed V Kanagaraj, retired judge of Madras High Court, as new State Election Commissioner (SEC) in the place of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.

After taking charge, the SEC directed the officials to be ready for holding elections to local bodies once the Covid-19 outbreak subsides.

Once the SEC gives nod, the state government is planning to conduct local body polls by maintaining social distance norms and giving time slots for casting votes. Even the SEC wants to increase the number of polling stations so that voting concludes peacefully without breaking Covid-19 precaution norms.
