PM Modi Celebrates Diwali with Security Forces in Bastar, Warns of ‘Dimagi Naxals’

Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 8 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district on Sunday. He honoured their sacrifices in the fight against Naxalism and praised their role in restoring security.

Addressing personnel at a security forces camp, Modi said their sacrifices had helped end Naxal terror in the region. He described this as the first Diwali after the end of Naxalism in the area.

The Prime Minister said armed Naxals had been eliminated from forests. However, he warned that what he called “dimagi Naxals” remained active in various organisations.

He alleged that such elements had infiltrated political parties and other organisations. He also accused them of influencing people against the Constitution and democracy.

Modi Highlights Importance of Internal Security

Modi said the role of personnel protecting internal security was as important as that of soldiers guarding the country’s borders.

He stressed that internal security was essential for protecting India’s unity and integrity. Strong internal security would prevent external enemies from gaining ground, he said.

The Prime Minister also said weaknesses in internal security could encourage external enemies. He described the security forces’ work as vital to the country’s overall security.

Modi credited the CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police and other security personnel for their role in anti-Naxal operations. He said their sacrifices had helped create conditions for development in the region.

The Prime Minister’s visit came after the Centre announced on March 31 that the country had achieved its target of eliminating Left-wing extremism. The government cited the elimination of senior leaders and cadres, along with the surrender of hundreds of Naxalites.

Modi’s remarks in Bastar highlighted the government’s position that the decades-long fight against Naxalism had reached a major milestone.
