Balotra, July 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra district of Rajasthan and dedicated the country’s first greenfield integrated refinery cum petrochemical complex to the nation.

Calling the project a major milestone for India’s fuel and petrochemical sector, the Prime Minister toured the refinery complex before officially launching it by pressing a remote button.

PM Modi Inaugurates Pachpadra Refinery with Major Infrastructure Push

The refinery is expected to produce around 2.4 million metric tonnes of petrochemical products annually, strengthening the country’s refining and petrochemical capacity.

Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated a new terminal at Jodhpur Airport and launched a new UDAN scheme. The Centre has allocated Rs 29,000 crore for the scheme over the next ten years.

He also laid the foundation stone for the Jaipur Metro Rail project, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 13,000 crore. In addition, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several railway projects in Rajasthan.
