Hyderabad, May 10: Narendra Modi arrived at Begumpet Airport on Sunday afternoon during his Telangana visit.
The Prime Minister reached Hyderabad nearly 30 minutes behind schedule. However, BJP leaders and party workers gave him a grand welcome at the airport.
Jishnu Dev Varma, senior officials and several BJP leaders received Modi upon his arrival. In addition, a large number of BJP workers greeted him with flower garlands and slogans.
Soon after landing, Modi left directly for Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Madhapur.
Modi to launch projects worth Rs 9,400 crore
During the visit, the Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects from HICC.
Officials said Modi will launch national highway and railway projects worth nearly Rs 9,400 crore.
He will also remotely inaugurate the newly built Sindhu Hospital in the Hitech City area.
Sources said the Prime Minister is likely to address representatives and officials attending the HICC programme.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad police imposed traffic restrictions in several parts of the city due to the VVIP movement. Traffic curbs are currently in force in areas including Gachibowli, Madhapur and Jubilee Hills.
Senior police officials are continuously monitoring the security arrangements and traffic management.
After completing the HICC programme, Modi will proceed to Parade Grounds in Secunderabad to address a large BJP public meeting.
