PM Modi Releases Rs. 20,000 Crore Under PM-KISAN Scheme

Varanasi/Hyderabad, August 2, 2025 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana, disbursing a massive ₹20,000 crore directly into the accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across India. The announcement was made during his visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and rural development.

Direct Benefit for Farmers Across India

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme provides eligible farmers with ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments. The latest disbursement continues the government’s focus on farmer welfare, especially amid rising agricultural input costs and climate uncertainties.

“The strength of India lies in its farmers. With every installment, we are ensuring that no farmer is left behind,” PM Modi said during the event.

₹2,200 Crore Development Projects Inaugurated in Varanasi

In addition to the PM-KISAN release, the Prime Minister inaugurated development projects worth ₹2,200 crore in Varanasi. These projects include:

  • Road infrastructure including Varanasi–Bhadohi and Chartouni–Tarakeswar routes
  • Smart electricity networks and schools
  • Revamped temples and tourism hubs
  • A new railway overbridge at Hardatpur
  • Eight riverfront development projects
  • 47 rural drinking water projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission
  • Electric infrastructure upgrades worth ₹880 crore

Nationwide Participation in PM-KISAN Program

While the main event took place in Varanasi, the program was broadcast nationwide. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy attended the event virtually. At the Rythu Vedika in Yacharam Mandal of Rangareddy district, MLA Mal Reddy Rangareddy joined farmers to witness the fund allocation in real time.

PM-KISAN Scheme: A Pillar of Rural Support

Since its inception, the PM-KISAN scheme has become a cornerstone of India’s rural economy, with over ₹3 lakh crore distributed to farmers. The government emphasizes transparency and direct benefit transfers, ensuring that funds reach beneficiaries without intermediaries.
