PM Modi to Visit Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka Today; Launch Major Projects

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on Saturday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for major infrastructure, connectivity, renewable energy, semiconductor and cultural projects aimed at boosting regional development and economic growth.

The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, where he will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, a Greenfield airport developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model at a cost of over ₹5,640 crore.

Designed to handle six million passengers annually, the airport is expected to improve air connectivity, promote tourism, attract investment and create employment opportunities across the region.

Ahead of the visit, PM Modi said the airport would strengthen connectivity, commerce and tourism while incorporating sustainability and energy efficient technologies.

Semiconductor, renewable energy and highway projects

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the ASIP Semiconductor Project in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility approved under the India Semiconductor Mission.

The ₹460 crore project is expected to manufacture nearly 96 million semiconductor chips annually, generate skilled employment and support the state’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.

In the renewable energy sector, PM Modi will launch multiple transmission projects, including the Kurnool IV Renewable Energy Zone Phase I worth ₹5,550 crore, along with transmission systems for wind and solar energy projects in Kurnool and Ananthapuram, developed by Powergrid.

He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects worth ₹1,880 crore, including Greenfield highway stretches and the Tadipatri Bypass, aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time and easing traffic congestion.

Visit to Karnataka

After completing his Andhra Pradesh engagements, the Prime Minister will travel to Mysuru, Karnataka, where he will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre (Viveka Smaraka).

Built at the historic Niranjana Math, the centre commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Mysuru in 1892 and includes a 4D Experience Centre, exhibition hall, amphitheatre, library, meditation hall, classrooms and facilities for students preparing for competitive examinations.

PM Modi will also address a public gathering during his visit.

The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on strengthening infrastructure, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and cultural heritage while creating new economic opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
