PM Rahat Scheme Ensures Cashless Treatment

The PM Rahat Scheme aims to ensure immediate medical treatment for road accident victims. According to the announcement, victims will get cashless treatment up to Rs. 1.5 lakh. The scheme follows recent Supreme Court orders that directed free medical treatment during the golden hour.

In this context, the central government introduced the scheme to support victims during emergencies. Once a road accident victim is brought to a hospital, doctors must begin treatment. However, if the hospital lacks facilities, it must shift the patient to another hospital. The hospital must also arrange transportation for the transfer.
