Police Conducted ‘Special Drive’ Against The Sale Of Chinese Manja In Hyderabad City
Hyderabad, Jan 10 (Maxim News): Cyberabad Police has launched a special drive against the sale of Chinese manja . There have been recent incidents of two-wheeler riders getting seriously injured after the manja got stuck in their necks in areas like Miyapur, Chandanagar Main Road, Madhapur, Hitech City, Kukatpally, Gachibowli under the Commissionerate. A two-wheeler rider was seriously injured after a thread got stuck in his neck on Balanagar Road.
Kites are being flown from apartments and rooftops, causing accidents by getting caught in tree branches and electric wires and hanging on the road. They are made of nylon and synthetic fibers and coated with glass powder and metal powder, making them extremely sharp and dangerous. As the Sankranti festival approaches, the purchase of kites and Chinese manjas has increased in the city. Shops in Cyberabad are being inspected and Chinese manja sales are being identified.
Not only humans, but also birds and other creatures are in danger. Their wings are getting entangled in threads and they are dying because they cannot fly. Stray dogs and cattle are getting injured by threads wrapping around their legs. Last year, 53 cases were registered against Chinamanja sellers in Cyberabad. The police are currently warning that cases will be registered against the traders.
