Nizamabad: Protests against Nizamabad MP Dharmapur Arvind for his failure to honor his electoral promise, took a violent turn on Saturday when BJP workers clashed with TRS activists and hurled stones on them leading to bleeding injuries to a police officer on duty in Dharpalli mandal.
A good number of TRS workers gathered in Dharpally after coming to know that the MP Arvind was to come there to unveil a stutue of Chatrapati Shivaji. BJP workers too gathered and began arguing with TRS workers. Soon arguments led to jostling and stones were hurled.
The TRS workers were planning to buttonhole the MP about his election promise to get the Turmeric Board sanctioned to the district and how he went back on his electoral promise.
