Hyderabad, Feb. 9 (Maxim News) : Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday alleged that corruption has spread across Karimnagar due to the conduct of MLA Gangula Kamalakar and Union Minister and MP Bandi Sanjay.
Ponnam made these remarks while addressing the media at the Karimnagar DCC office. Ponnam Prabhakar strongly rejected statements made by Bandi Sanjay regarding the Karimnagar Corporation elections.
Minister Prabhakar condemned the claim that Congress entered into a Rs 100 crore deal with the MIM to defeat the BJP. He said such allegations were false and aimed at misleading the public.
According to Ponnam Prabhakar, the real understanding existed between the BJP and the BRS. He alleged that both parties reached an internal agreement in the Karimnagar Corporation. He further claimed that candidate selection also took place with mutual consent between the BJP and the BRS.
Continuing his attack, Ponnam Prabhakar said the BJP and the BRS worked together to protect their political interests.
Minister Prabhakar alleged that this understanding harmed democratic processes in the corporation. He asserted that the people of Karimnagar were aware of this arrangement.
The minister also spoke about development issues in the district. He said the government was working on the development of Kondagattu and Vemulawada temples.
However, he alleged that Karimnagar district suffered neglect over the last ten years. He blamed the previous leadership for the lack of progress.
Ponnam Prabhakar further stated that corruption increased due to the actions of the MLA and the MP.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar alleged that their approach turned the district into a hub of irregularities. He said public dissatisfaction was growing as a result.
Minister Prabhakar criticised the BJP leadership for making baseless charges instead of addressing governance issues. He said such statements diverted attention from real problems faced by people.
Ponnam Prabhakar maintained that the Congress remained committed to transparency and development. He said the party would take its message to the people of Karimnagar. He concluded by asserting that false propaganda would not succeed in the long run. (Maxim News)
