Hyderabad: Poor houses demolished in Khammam has triggered sharp criticism from Telangana BJP state president Ramachandra Rao. He said authorities demolished the houses of the poor in a brutal manner without giving notices. He made these remarks after inspecting Bhoodan lands in Velugumatla, a suburb of Khammam.

During his visit, Ramachandra Rao spoke to landless people. He inquired about their problems. Meanwhile, residents shared their concerns over the demolition. The issue of poor houses demolished in Khammam dominated his interaction with locals.

Later, speaking to media persons, Ramachandra Rao said they demolished the house of the poor who had Bhudan Board titles. He strongly criticized the government over the action. “This is not a people’s government. it is an anti-poor government. What did they achieve by demolishing the houses of the poor? The BJP will fight on behalf of the victims. The poor should be given houses built in 100 yards in the demolished areas. They are sending the poor away for the sake of the real estate business,” he alleged.

He reiterated that the poor houses demolished in Khammam belonged to people who held Bhudan Board titles. Therefore, he questioned the purpose behind the demolition drive. He also demanded that the government provide houses built in 100 yards in the same demolished areas.

Ramachandra Rao said the BJP will stand with the victims. Meanwhile, he accused the government of acting against the poor. He alleged that the demolitions were carried out for the sake of real estate business.
