Possibility Of Three Corner Contest In Jubilee Hills By-Elections
Hyderabad, Oct 7 (Maxim News): Another juicy political battle has begun in the Telangana state, with the Central Election Commission releasing the schedule for the Jubilee Hills by-election in Hyderabad, all the major political parties have focused their attention on it.
There is a high possibility of a three way contest in this election. There are chances of the sitting party BRS and the ruling Congress along with the BJP being in the fray. However, it is being expressed that these calculations will change depending on the selection of candidates and the decision taken by the AIMIM.
The Congress party is considering the Jubilee Hills by-election as a prestigious one. The party, which won the Cantonment by-election held after coming to power amid expectations that the party has weakened in Hyderabad,is going to take Jubilee Hills as a winning mantra. Revanth Reddy and TPCC Chief B.Mahesh Kumar Goud have already paid special attention to this.
Ministers Gaddam Vivek, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Pnnam Prabhakar, along with a large number of corporation chairman and senior leaders, have entered the fray and started work. With the idea of fielding the BC candidate, the party is considering the names of leaders Naveen Yadav, Bonthu Rammohan and Anjan Yadav. It is noteworthy that Corporator CN Reddy’s name is in the list sent to the AICC.
BRS is expecting ‘Caru Joru’ along with its sympathy for Maganti Gopinath’s family and some opposition to the government, will help it retain its seat. It is ahead of the other parties by already finalizing Sunita, the wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath, as its candidate.
KCR, who has met with senior party leaders several times, has given directions on the strategy to be followed by BRS in the by-election. In the wake of the latest schedule, it is reported that a key meeting is being held at Erravalli residence on Tuesday. Meanwhile, party working president KTR has been working on preparing the party cadre for about a month. Party in-charges have already been appointed for six divisions to coordinate the election campaign.
With the GHMC elections looming, BJP hopes to seize the good opportunity to show strength in Hyderabad and hoist the saffron flag on Jubilee Hills using the Hindutva agenda, central government schemes, state government failures, and BRS weaknesses as a support. Along with Lankala Deepak Reddy, who contested the last election, Atluri Ramakrishna, Jouturi Keerthy Reddy, Veerapaneni Padma, Bandaru vijayalakshmi, film actress Jayasudha and Akula vijaya are competing for this party ticket.
It is reported that the State Election Committee will meet under the chairmanship of State President Ramachandra Rao in a day or two and announce the candidate. This election has become prestigious for Union Minister G.Kishan Reddy as Jubilee Hills is in the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constitutency. There is no clarity on the activities of MIM so far.
It has become interesting to see what the Majlis, which was responsible for the defeat of the Congress candidate by contesting in the last election, will do this time. The CPI, CPM and Jana Samithi are more likely to stand by the ruling Congress. (Maxim News)
