Practical Knowledge required for landing good jobs, says Senior TCS Executive
Hyderabad, Feb 23 (Maxim News): The students should be exposed to fair amount of practical knowledge along with the theories so as to prepare them well for the job market which is expanding and becoming tougher by the day, Mr. Krishna Kishore, a senior executive working with internationally known Indian firm, Tata Consultancy Services, said on Thursday.
Delivering the keynote address at the conference titled Industry—Institute Linkages: Rekindle Youth, Innovation and Employability—Mr Kishore, Vertical Head of TCS, asked the students to gain as much practical knowledge of the subject as they could while working well on theoretical dimensions.
The conference was organised by the Training and Placement Cell of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) with a view to exposing the students to the demands and the challenges of the employment market.
He said that the employment sector should take equal responsibility in preparing the students that suit the market as well as their talents. To achieve this objective there should be regular interaction between the industry and the educational institutions, he added.
Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor of MANUU, who presided over the inaugural session of the conference, said that the educational institutions have not been able to cope with the speed with which employment sector has been growing recently.
The Vice-Chancellor asked the students to develop clarity of thought and action before pursuing their goals.
Mr Sachin Khandelwal, CEO Magma Housing Finance Ltd., said that knowledge and expertise in Urdu could become an added advantage for the success of MANUU students as there is growth in specialised language sector within the industry. “Do not think that employment with a private or public sector company could alone be your goal. You could enter into independent business on your own if you have the necessary tools and the courage,” he said.
A whole range of senior executives from the government and private sector spoke with the students during the conference objectives of which were explained by Prof. Rehan Suri, Advisor, Tranining and Placement of MANUU.
