Hyderabad, Feb.12 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today said Yoga classes should be made mandatory in schools for students’ health and people have to practice it to live longer.
Speaking at a yoga camp in Siddipet on Wednesday, he appealed to people to practice yoga and Pranayama to live longer. He said a person with regular Pranayama practice of yoga will breathe only 12 to 15 times a minute while others, who do not have the practice will breathe 20 to 25 times a minute. He expressed concern over the schools and educational institutions turning into machines to get ranks and marks. “This is not right as the students have to be made strong enough to face any problem or challenge in future”, he said.
With Pranayama, as part of Yoga for half-an-hour or one hour, a person can live long and avoid health problems, he opined. He also stressed the need for yoga practice by people and students. There is a need to make yoga classes compulsory in the schools to increase memory power and remain fit mentally and physically Harish Rao said.
He asked people to be cautious on health and have check ups before the problem gets doubled. Take limited food and ensure good health or else medicine will become unavoidable, the minister warned. “Elephant breaths nine to 10 times a minute and lives for 150 years, a tortoise breaths only 4 to 5 times and lives up to 300 to 400 years. However, a dog breathes for 40 to 50 times a minute and lives not more than 15 years.
Instead of social media and television shows, people should practice Yoga an hour a day and stay away from the doctor. (Maxim News)
