Many people claimed that encroachers misused the influence of former municipal councillors and ward members to take over properties. They also said that despite filing complaints, local authorities failed to take action.

Major Encroachment Issues Reported

  • AV Nagar-2: Residents complained of flooding after a wall was built over a blocked stormwater passage linked to Turkayamjal Lake.
  • Pratap Singaram, Ghatkesar Mandal: A 390-plot layout from 1989, covering 25.17 acres, has been partially encroached. Residents said 88 plots were taken over, and one person used the Dharani portal to create a fake passbook for 6.14 acres. They also claimed that roads and parks in the area had been occupied.
  • Boduppal: Members of the Devender Nagar Weaker Section Society requested HYDRAA to reclaim a 1,200-square-yard government plot meant for a school playground, which has now been encroached.
  • Srirangapura Colony: Residents alleged that a former public representative took over 1,050 square yards of parkland in Ward 24 of Urukayanjal Municipality, Rangareddy District. They also said that a road connecting six colonies had been occupied, blocking access for residents.
