Pranab Mukherjee to visit Udupi, Kolluru

President Pranab Mukherjee today visited thetemple town of Udupi and Kolluru on the second day of his two-dayvisit to Karnataka.

The President laid the foundation stone for Shambhu Shetty Memorial Haji Abdullah Super Speciality Hospital, Udupi,promoted by NRI businessman Dr B R Shetty. Mr Mukherjee said India has to brace up further to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and personnel, particularly in the rural areas.

”We see a big gap here when compared to cities and villages. We need more investment in the rural areas from government and private partners in healthcare,” he said.
