Komaram Bheem Asifabad/Hyderabad, Oct 18 (Maxim News) A man brutally hacked his pregnant daughter-in-law to death at Gerre village in Dahegaon mandal on Saturday, reportedly because he disapproved of her marriage to his son.

According to family members and the police, the accused, Sattaiah, attacked Rani (21), wife of his son Shekhar, with an axe and knife after an argument, killing her on the spot. Rani, who was nine months pregnant, was expecting to deliver within a week or two. She was alone when the incident occurred.
Police said Sattaiah, along with his wife and another daughter-in-law, had been harbouring a grudge against Rani for marrying Shekhar against his wishes. He had allegedly been insisting that Shekhar abandon her and marry another woman.

Rani, belonging to a Scheduled Tribe community from the same village, had married Shekhar only a few months ago. Following a complaint lodged by Shekhar, police registered a case against Sattaiah, his wife and the other daughter-in-law. (Maxim News)
