Priyanka Gandhi jumps over police barricades as Congress protest rages
New Delhi, August 05: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress party, on Friday leaped over a police barricade set up close to the AICC offices as part of a party protest against the living expenses and unemployment in Delhi.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who participated in the party’s nationwide uproar by staging a sit-in protest outside the AICC offices, was held by the police amid high drama.
Congress lawmakers, including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, protested earlier in the day outside Parliament and marched to Rashtrapati Bhawan. However, the Delhi Police stopped the protesters and forbade them from travelling in the direction of Rashtrapati Bhawan. Police at Vijay Chowk apprehended the other Congress MPs.
