Priyanka Gandhi likely to be made party incharge of South Unit

New Delhi, August 13: The Congress wants to hand over responsibilities of southern states to Priyanka Gandhi to bring back lost glory. Once southern states especially Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were stronghold for the Congress. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) would take a decision in this regard very soon.

Initially, Priyanka will be asked to look after Telangana and Karnataka states. Sources said that Telangana Congress in-charge Manickam Tagore reportedly failed to stop leaders from quitting Congress. Most likely, Tagore will be replaced by Priyanka ahead of Munugode by-election. Even in Karnataka Congress, a gap is evident between Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar.

Priyanka will focus on bringing unity among the leaders as Karnataka and Telangana will face elections much ahead than other southern states.
