Program on the ‘Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certificate in Catering held at FTCCI

Hyderabad: In a significant move to bolster food safety standards within the catering industry, KFC India Sahyog, in collaboration with the Retailers Association of India and the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), on Friday conducted a comprehensive training program on the ‘Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certificate in Catering (Basic Level) at FTCCI Red hills.’

This initiative, under the “KFC INDIA SAHYOG” flagship program, is part of KFC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to empower local restaurant partners with essential knowledge and skills in food safety. The training, led by the esteemed Dr. Pasupathy Venkat, focused on equipping participants with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of food safety, ensuring they meet the highest standards in their operations.

The program had the presence of industry leaders, including Dr. Aman Gupta, Chairperson of the Restaurant Committee at the Retailers Association of India, and Gautam Jain, Director of Legal Compliances at the Retailers Association of India. Their involvement highlighted the importance of a unified approach to elevating food safety practices across the sector.

FTCCI President Mr. Suresh Singhal offered valuable insights into the broader industry perspective and emphasized FTCCI’s commitment to supporting various sectors, particularly the retail and food service industries. He underscored the chamber’s dedication to driving excellence and ensuring that businesses are well-prepared to meet the stringent demands of food safety compliance.

Throughout the training, Dr. Venkat detailed the major challenges faced by the industry, focusing on compliance with regulations, the importance of adhering to food safety standards, and the implementation of best practices in food handling and hygiene. The program provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical tools, empowering them to apply these insights in their daily operations and contribute to the overall safety and quality of the food service industry.
