Rahul Gandhi And Mallikarjun Kharge Skip Independence Day Celebration At Red Fort
Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 15 (Maxim News): The 79th Independence Day celebrations were held at the Red Fort in the national capital Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the Indian national flag at the Red Fort. Many leaders from the ruling and opposition parties participated in the event. However, key Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge did not go to the Red Fort. There are many rumors that they did not participate in the independence celebrations held at the Red Fort.
According to reliable sources, it seems that the two did not go to the Red Fort due to the lack of proper seating facilities. It is reported that in view of last year’s experience, they have refrained from going to the Red Fort this year. However, there is no official statement from the Congress party on why Rahul and Kharge did not go to the Red Fort. Now, these two have taken to social media to wish the people of the country on the 79th Independence Day.
Rahul wrote in his post, “This freedom is the result of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. it is not just freedom. It is also the determination to build a wonderful India where justice rests on the foundation of honesty and equality. Every heart should be filled with respect and brotherhood. it is the duty of all of us to protect the honor of this invaluable heritage, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
In this post, Kharge wrote, “Independence Day is a sacred occasion to rededicate ourselvesd to the values of liberty, justice, equality and fraternity that our democracy cherishes.” (Maxim News)
