Rain Havoc In Saudi Desert: Flooded Roads

Mecca/Internet/Hyderabad, Dec 10 (Maxim News): Usually, when you hear the name Saudi Arabia, you think of burning deserts. Such is the case here. Heavy rain, flash floods, strong gusty winds, and thunderstorms are wreaking havoc in the areas around Mecca, Jeddah, Rabigh, Khulais, and Bahra in Saudi Arabia. With this, the Meteorological Department has issued red, orange, and yellow alerts for areas like Hail, Qassim, Tabuk, Mecca, Asir, and Al Baha. Officials are urging people not to come out under any circumstances and to follow safety guidelines. They have warned people to be especially vigilant, as the red alert zones are very dangerous.

Schools have been closed as roads have turned into lakes due to heavy floods. Students have been advised to conduct online classes. Cinema halls have been closed. People have been unable to come out due to waterlogging on the roads due to floods. People have been advised to be alert as there is a possibility of rain in the next two days. International events have had to be postponed in the wake of heavy rains. The Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah had to be abruptly called off. The US Embassy has also cancelled its gala event due to security reasons.

The Meteorological Department said that rains are likely to continue in Madinah, Tabuk, Al Jaffa, the northern border areas and the Eastern Province on Wednesday and Thursday. Officials said that people should not believe the rumors about the loss of life due to floods. The government will take all measures with rescue teams to ensure that the people do not face any difficulties. Meanwhile, videos related to the floods are going viral on social media.
