Ranbir Kapoor To Start “Dhoom 4” In April 2026

Ranbir Kapoor is set to headline the highly anticipated Dhoom 4, the next installment of the iconic action franchise from Yash Raj Films, which is scheduled to begin production in April 2026. The actor is expected to undergo a significant transformation for his role, with reports indicating that he will sport four distinct looks, bringing a fresh and modern approach to the series.

In addition to the casting of Kapoor in the lead role, the production team is in the process of finalizing two female leads and an antagonist for the film. Speculation suggests that the antagonist may come from the South Indian film industry, with several notable names under consideration.

Aditya Chopra believes that Kapoor is the ideal actor to carry forward the legacy of the action saga. This new installment is expected to cater to modern audiences, with Chopra aiming to create a film that resonates with today’s viewers.

Before diving into Dhoom 4, Kapoor will wrap up his ongoing projects. He is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, as well as Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious retelling of Ramayana. Once these films are completed, Kapoor will begin filming for Dhoom 4.

A source cited to News18, “The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest in being a part of Dhoom 4 (Dhoom Reloaded) upon hearing the basic idea and is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy,”

Media quoted, “Kapoor will need to have a different look for Dhoom 4 and before starting that, he will wrap up his two existing projects. Dhoom 4 is expected to go on floors next April. The production team is currently looking to lock in two female leads and an antagonist for the film. Key contenders to play the antagonist in the film are being considered from the south,” said the source.
